The University of Delaware Department of Political Science and International Relations Advisory Board is comprised of alumni, academic and community leaders, and parents and friends, who wish to work closely with the department to enhance its instructional, research, and service programs, improve its facilities, expand its financial resources, and serve its alumni, graduate, and undergraduate students.
The mission of the Advisory Board is to advise and assist the Chair and Faculty on matters related to nurturing relationships between the Department and its graduates and wider community, enhancing the current graduate and undergraduate student experience, and identifying opportunities for financial support of the Department.
In carrying out the Board's role, members help inform and support the work of the Chair, faculty and staff. They serve as a sounding board for the Chair and provide advice to ensure that Departmental programs maintain the highest standards of excellence. They help ensure the Department has the resources to achieve its goals by being a source of financial support and by referring other potential supports. In addition, they make the activities and accomplishments of the Department more widely known among students, alumni, donors, employers, professionals, and the community.
