Biography
Kathrin Reed is a Ph.D. candidate specializing in the international relations and comparative politics of East Asia. Her dissertation examines how the small state of Cambodia has managed its bilateral relations with its larger neighbors of Vietnam and Thailand despite ongoing territorial conflicts from 1993 to 2023. It is based on 13 months of fieldwork, for which she received generous funding from Fulbright and the Center for Khmer Studies. Previously, she worked for an international organization based in Switzerland on security sector governance, democratization, and peacebuilding in Southeast Asia.

International relations and comparative politics of East Asia, Chinese foreign policy, small states, peace and conflict, regionalism, developing nations, and research methods
