Newark, DE 19716<div class="ExternalClass9B52CF39BE654A88979A49A681A3B0BF"><p dir="ltr">Kathrin Reed is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science and International Relations. Her work focuses on the international relations and comparative politics of Southeast Asia, with particular interest in the regional politics of the Mekong, Chinese infrastructure development in the region, the foreign policy of a “small state” such as Cambodia, and the influence of international actors and interventions and domestic patron-client relations on foreign policy decision-making. </p><p dir="ltr">For four years, she worked at the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of the Armed Forces (DCAF) based in Switzerland and Cambodia, where she conducted research and helped to organize conferences and workshops on security sector governance and reform and democratization in Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines and Indonesia. In 2016, she was a visiting research associate at the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP) in Phnom Penh. </p><p dir="ltr">Kathrin received her M.A. in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva, Switzerland) in 2014 and her B.A. in French and International Relations from the College of Wooster (Wooster, OH) in 2012.
