He specializes in international relations theory and history, with a second area in democratization and the comparative politics of developing countries. Professor Green teaches a graduate seminar in international relations theory, and various undergraduate courses on the politics of developing nations, the history of international relations, and a course on the history of American foreign policy in the Middle East.
