Biography
Prior to joining the Associate in Arts program in Wilmington (2008), I had over 20 years experience teaching in a wide range of universities and colleges including Rutgers University, Vanderbilt University, Lehigh University, Wabash College (IN), Moravian College (PA), Albright College (PA) and Dowling College (NY).
I especially enjoy working in the teaching-oriented and student-learning-focused environment of the Associate in Arts Program. My classes often include lively and thoughtful conversations about current events, in a respectful and tolerant atmosphere. As I also teach on the main campus, it is especially nice to run into former students from the program who are completing their degree program at the University of Delaware in Newark.
I am also actively involved in, and foster student involvement in, a number of community groups such as the YWCA, where I serve as a facilitator for small-group discussion sessions focused on issues of race and racism), as well as the Coalition to End the New Jim Crow, Delaware United, and a variety of UD’s Community Engagement initiatives.
