    Biography

    Christine DiSabatino Koerner, Class of ’75 earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, mentored by Dr. Jim Soles, and leading her to be a volunteer for Sen. Joe Biden’s first US Senate race, to Dr. Soles House race, and then to Sen. Biden’s Washington office and to the Carter White House.

    She began her own business in 1984, becoming a fundraising consultant for Members of Congress, including Sen. Carper who she met on the Soles race, US Senators, progressive organizations, and campaign committees before shifting to the non-profit world in 1995. As the first Director of Women’s Initiatives for the American Physical Therapy Association, advocating for women members, to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, as a fundraiser and advocate for their political and policy initiatives, including extensive fundraising and lawyer recruitment for Trial Lawyers Care that provided pro bono legal services to the victim families of 9/11, she then returned to politics as the National Finance Director for the 2008 Biden for President campaign.  Returning to the non-profit world following the campaign, she moved to the Center for Law and Social Policy, and is currently at Rebuilding Together DC Alexandria, a small direct service organization that assists low-income homeowners with safety repairs and revitalizes common spaces in low-income neighborhoods. She lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband, George, and two rescue dogs, Bonnie and Bailey.

    She serves on the University of Delaware Political Science and International Relations Departmental Advisory Board and the department’s James R. Soles Endowment Advisory Group.
