We are delighted to announce the outstanding achievements and awards of the Department of Political Science and International Relations graduate students, who have excelled in their academic pursuits and contributed significantly to their respective fields.

2021-2022 Award Winners:
- Political Science Graduate Teaching Assistantship Award was awarded to Chibuzo Achinivu and Amara Galileo.
- Political Science Graduate Paper Award was awarded to Jiwon Nam, for her paper titled, “The Double-Edged Sword of Deliberative Democracy: Topic Model Analysis of International Climate Change Speeches."
- H. Khan Award for Excellence in Graduate Research on Islam and Global Affairs was awarded to Fahmida Zaman, for her paper titled, “Disabling Dissent: Understanding Political Control of the Internet."
- University of Delaware Doctoral Fellowship for Excellence was awarded to Chibuzo Achinivu.

- Tobias Lemke has accepted a tenure-track offer from Francis Marion University.
- Chibuzo Achinivu has received a Smith Richardson Foundation World Politics and Statecraft Fellowship to support his dissertation fieldwork.
- Thomas Benson was selected as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) Finalist for the Class of 2023.

- Daniel Abankwa has accepted a tenure track job at Western Carolina University.​
- Wenxin Li received a Hosei University International Foreign Scholars Fellowship. for 2023-2024 to support her dissertation fieldwork in Japan.
- Chibuzo Achinivu received a Doctoral Fellowship for Excellence for 2023-2024.
- James Korman received a Doctoral Fellowship for Excellence for 2023-2024.
- Jiwon Nam received a Doctoral Fellowship for Excellence for 2023-2024.
- Fahmida Zaman received a Doctoral Fellowship for Excellence for 2023-2024.
- James Korman's article, "Assessing The Impact of Wealth Inequality on State Capture in Latin America," has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Development Issues​
