Four Political Science and International Relations graduate students received special recognition at an end-of-the-year celebration held in the Colonnade adjacent to Smith Hall earlier this mont​h.
The Political Scien​ce Graduate Paper Award was given to Jiwon Nam. This award is given to a graduate student who has written an exceptional professional paper in the previous academic year. Nam received a $100 award.
The Political Science Graduate Teaching Assistantship Award was shared this year by Chibuzo Achinivu and Amara Galileo. This award is given to a graduate student(s) who has performed exceptionally well in their role as a teaching assistant. Each award-winner received a $100 prize.
The H. Khan Award for Excellence in Graduate Research on Islam and Global Affairs was received by Fahmida Zaman. This annual award recognizes excellence for a paper on the topic of Islam and global affairs. Zaman was awarded a $250 prize.
The end-of-year-celebration also included a tribute to Dr. Bill Meyer's retirement (two years late, due to the pandemic) as well as plenty of good food and good conversation.​
